This Den Hollander is thermal vapor recompression evaporator for the production of sweetened condensed milkand has mainly been used to concentrate whole and/or skimmed milk, optionally in combination with other (dairy) raw materials and sugar, to a dry matter content of approximately 70%.
It contains a 5-stage evaporator with a finisher (final boiling stage)and is equipped with two open condensers cooled with canal water.
The 3rd evaporator body is equipped with a fat injection system for dosing vegetable oil. The evaporator has a capacity of approximately 27 m³/h, with a water evaporation rate of approximately 18 m³/h. The steam consumption ratio of the evaporator is 0.36. It is also equipped with several holding tubes (hot holders) and pasteurizers.
